Wormwood Scrubs Poem 30th April ’11

Wormwood Scrubs Poem     IMG_1213  As I walk upon the spine of your being
And the blades of grass stroke the soles of my feet
I ask thee Earth
What is it you have me do here?
And the Earth spoke wisely
Peace
Bring peace

As I lift my arms towards you wind
And feel thy strength embrace my being
I ask thee wind
What is it you have me do here?
And the wind whispered in my pale ears
Love
Love all IMG_1241

As I tilt my face towards you sun
And feel thy warm rays soak into my cheeks
I ask thee sun
What is it you have me do here?
And the sun declared
Be
Just be

As I felt you rain gently tap my skin
And let each droplet dance with my eye lashes
I ask thee rain
What is it you have me do here?
The rain spoke smoothly
Flow
Flow in life

by Natalie Hayward

These words came to me as I walked my dog Charlie through Wormwood scrubs with no shoes, just grass beneath my toes and I could feel the amazing power of nature grasping my mind and body, taking me away to a world of wisdom and wonder. It was a time when I was asking continuously what it is I need to be doing for work, money etc and these words came from my heart…Or somewhere beyond my simple mind! They are messages from natures, messages that are constantly being spoken but we forget to listen.

What messages do you hear?
